A very well equipped villa close to the small town of Terranova. Good rail links to Florence and Arezzo, 1 hour drive to Sienna. Great family sized kitchen which proved to be the hub for all, plus lots of other spaces to use for quiet time reading. Plenty of bathrooms so no hassle in the mornings.
Major issue with mosquitoes inside and outside resulting in limited use of the pool and eating outside at any time. Everyone affected, generally limited effectiveness of the many anti-mosquito systems tried throughout the villa. Fumigation aerosol recommended by the local pharmacy proved to be the best solution, start on day 1 not when you are about to leave and come prepared.
The owners are at hand and very helpful.

Nous venons de passer entre amis, une super semaine a la villa il colto..cette demeure au sommet de la colline, au milieu des oliviers est tout simplement manifique...l'accueil de Laura et Helena chaleureux et attentioné, donne des le depart l'ambiance du séjour.
Nous reviendrons..c'est promis....

Laura and Elena are both accomodating and gracious hosts. The villa surpassed our expectations, it was absolutely stunning!!! The meal that was prepared one evening by Sergio and Laura was outstanding and memorable.
The pool was the center of activity for the entire family.
The entire family had a great time and we would definitely recommend this villa to anyone.

Our visit to Il Colto was absolutely wonderful. The place is beautiful , bar none. We stayed in the villa last year in October and enjoyed it so much that we had to return this year. Our children whom we took last year and this year we went with friends, still haven't forgiven us for "leaving them" this year. Owners are the perfect hosts. Attention to detail is their specialty. The villa has a beautiful view and the photos never do it justice. The small town of Terranova is NOT touristy- so authentic so real so Italian ! Chuck and Debbie"

Hello, dont know if you will receive this in time or not... i have been meaning to write to you to tell you just how much we have enjoyed the villa... it was so much better than any of our wildest dreams...and there are nine of us! it has been fabulous and owners unbelieveable hosts. We will recommend the property with the highest ratings and cannot wait to spread the word. Thanks so much for making our vacation reach beyond our highest expecations...i am hard to please so those words dont come very often! Villa il Colto SHOULD NOT BE MISSED! Nine of us stayed for a week and we felt as if we had our own private hotel. Expansive views, spacious and lovely decor.
Elena and Laura could not do enough for us and even took us to Fed Ex to help us ship our boxes.
I highly recommend Villa il Colto--it is a great location and in the center of Tuscany. What a fabulous vacation!

Other highlights included the outstanding renovation of the property, access to the vegetable and herb gardens, the pizza oven and the non-touristry atmosphere of the town.
