The Fratini family have a long, outstanding experience in the field of hospitality and catering. In the 1960s Leonetto and Fosco, the owners_ father and uncle, set up their own restaurant, hotel and grocery shop right in the centre of town and they soon became renowned for their knowledgeable and passionate running of the business. They prided in offering simple but comfortable, warm accomodation as well as genuine,tasty, high-quality food and wines they themselves selected in the farms in the Valdarno and Chianti area. The present owners of Villa Il Colto, Laura and Elena, grew up in such a home, learning from their mother Sara how to cook traditional Tuscan food and from their father the true manners of hospitality.They have now decided to resume the family tradition after following their own paths in life and entering their own professions. Elena, who is an Architect, lives in the barn on the estate and has her own office in town while Laura, who is a teacher of English, lives nearby in town with her own family. They both speak English and will be glad to welcome you to their villa in the heart of Tuscany being at hand for help and queries. The family staff also includes Sergio, Laura and Elena_s cousin, who is a dedicated, refined gourmet and fantastic cook who, on request, can prepare superb, fresh dinners for you from a wide choice of dishes. He and/or Laura, who also delights in cooking, will be more than willing to treat you to a tasting of excellent tuscan cuisine.
